Destination Guides is hiring! We are in the process of creating and launching guides for: San Francisco, Portland OR, Boston, Cape Cod, Houston, Tampa, Orlando, and the Hawaiian Islands. We're now looking to fill the following positions:

Internships
Journalism/Editorial Internship:
We are seeking talented and energetic editorial interns to research and write copy for our growing number of destination websites. Our style is intelligent but breezy and hip. Content covers a wide range of information of interest to visitors, such as basic area overviews and articles on activities, neighborhoods, attractions, and events.
You will work directly with our Editor in Chief. Location is generally not an issue, but you must be a self-starter and able to work independently. Hours can vary, but we request an average commitment of at least 10 hours per week. This is a great opportunity to get a byline and expand your portfolio, while reaching a broad audience. After an initial six-week probationary period, you will also be listed as an intern in the Site Information | About Us section, along with other staffers.
We will be happy to assist you in earning academic credit.

Web Development Internship:
We are seeking talented and highly-skilled development interns to create, test and modify back and front-end code for our growing number of destination websites. Necessary skillsets include but are not limited to Javascript, PHP, XML, CSS and HTML. Tasks will vary, but will generally include template work, page creation, trouble-shooting and framework coding. There will also be oportunites to create and suggest new features, functions, and other approved side-projects of your choice.
You will work directly with our Creative Director, along with other editorial and development interns. Generally communication and work will be done online, you must be a self-starter and able to work independently as well as with others on projects. Hours can vary, but we request an average commitment of at least 10 hours per week. This is a great opportunity to hone and improve your skillset while working on a large website network. After an initial six-week probationary period, you will also be listed as an intern in the Site Information | About Us section, along with other staffers.

Marketing/Sales Internship:
We are seeking a motivated and goal-oriented intern to work closely with the Marketing Director in day to day activities with marketing strategies, business development, and online advertising sales.
Your tasks will be to promote the website on search engines using SEO strategies, blogs and social media outlets such as Facebook, reaching out to potential marketing partners, brainstorming ideas on new marketing initiatives, helping with cold sales calls, researching and pitching to potential advertising clients and much more!
Applicant must be self-motivated and capable of working independently, have excellent listening and communication skills and be extremely web-savvy and have superior skills in finding information on the web.
